A 1st Class SOLDIER with abilities comparable to Sephiroth’s, who lives according to his own aesthetic. One day, he suddenly disappeared with a large number of 2nd and 3rd Class SOLDIERS, and since then, he has been in direct conflict with Shinra.
A Literature Student Devoted to “Loveless”
Genesis’ other side is researching the classic epic poem LOVELESS. He pursues the mystery of the “Gift of the Goddess” that the three young men, the protagonists of the poem, are searching for. By clarifying the mystery of the “gift,” which is interpreted in different ways by different readers, Genesis not only seeks to deepen his understanding of the poem, but also to find answers to his questions about his own life, thinking that…
→ Genesis identifies himself and his two friends as the protagonists of the poem.
Conflicting Feelings About Sephiroth
For Genesis, Sephiroth is not just a close friend, but also a being to surpass—a worthy rival. In the past, Genesis was inspired to become a SOLDIER by Sephiroth, who was a hero despite being the same age as Genesis. But after defecting from Shinra, Genesis says to Sephiroth, “After all, your glory should have been mine”. It seems that Genesis and Sephiroth had a connection even before they became SOLDIERs.
↑ He challenged Sephiroth to a fight in the training room due to their strong rivalry, and was injured. While recovering from his wounds, he learns a secret concerning himself and Sephiroth.
A Fabricated Family
Angeal and Genesis are childhood friends who grew up in the same village of Banora. While Angeal was from a poor but ordinary family, Genesis was the son of the landowner of Banora. But later, Genesis says that he does not consider his mother and father to be his real parents. What truth did he uncover about his birth?

A Mysterious Being Wake ups in an Underground Cavern
Genesis first appeared in a secret movie in DC, a game set three years after the events of FFVII. In DC, however, he is known simply by his initial, “G”.
In an underground cavern, he holds Weiss, the final boss of DC, and spreads one black wing to fly away. G’s actions in the movie remain shrouded in mystery, as does his identity and the intentions behind his actions. Some mysteries are resolved in CC, but there are still many that have yet to be revealed (→P.546).
← The secret movie uses the ending of DC as its premise. In other words, Genesis wakes up at the end of DC and then…?
