FFVII Characters in CC -FFVII-

There are many characters from FFVII that people talk about in CC, even if they do not show up in person. This will look back on their different situations in FFVII and check on them in CC.

Barret Wallace

[FFVII] One of the friends who saved the Planet. A native of the village of Corel, he hated Shinra for burning down his hometown to cover up the scandal of the mako reactor explosion, and was active under the name of Avalanche, the famous anti-Shinra organization that once swept over the world.

[CC]He became the topic of conversation in the Shinra Building as “some brute named “Magnum” or “Bullet” who was in the observation team from Corel, the planned site for the construction of a mako reactor.

↑ In the days of CC, Barret was in favor of building the mako reactor. Apparently, people recognize his name by the imagery of a bullet.

Cait Sith

[FFVII] One of the friends who saved the Planet. A cat-like robot controlled by the Shinra Executive Reeve, who initially accompanies Cloud to spy on him. His weapon is a megaphone.

[CC] He appears as a D.M.W. image. When [Zack] obtains the key item, Cait Sith’s Megaphone, he is added to the D.M.W. and can use his Limit Break, “Courage Boost!” to give Zack a variety of effects that benefit him in battle.

↑ In FFVII, he used slots, but in CC, he himself is used as a slot image.

Vincent Valentine

[FFVII] One of the friends who saved the Planet. Originally a Turk, he became immortal from Hojo’s experiments, and was woken up by Cloud and the others after being asleep for over twenty years.

[CC] He is asleep in one of the coffins in the basement of Shinra Manor.

↑ He’s supposed to be lying there to pay for his crime of not saving his loved one, but he’s sleeping soundly instead?

Cid Highwind

[FFVII] One of the friends who saved the Planet. He is a legendary pilot in the Shinra Space Development Department, but he is still dwelling on his past rocket launch failure.

[CC] From the talk of the employees in the Exhibit Room in the Shinra building, and from [X2-9] Space Development Report, we know that Cid has started training to embark on the launch of Shinra 26. Incidentally, the launch date was [ν]-εγλ 0003/4/12.

↑ Rumor has it that he is a former rocket pilot candidate who was beaten by Cid in a competition.

President Shinra

[FFVII] Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Shinra Company. With ambitions to build Neo Midgar in the “Promised Land”, he is an obstacle to Cloud and the others early in the story.

[CC] At the end of the Wutai War, he sent out a company newsletter under his own name. Zack, Tseng and others are aware of him as their president, and since he is the most important person in the world, he is being talked about everywhere.

↑ What about the rumors that say he had an affair with a slum woman and had an illegitimate child…?

Rufus Shinra

[FFVII] The son of President Shinra. He was on a long-term business trip as the vice president, but became the president during the story and sparked many [fights] with Cloud and the others.

TL Note: literally “scattered sparks with Cloud and the others many times”

[CC] It is established in [X2-3] Personnel Announcement 0012 that just before Zack left for Banora, he became Vice President and went on a long-term business trip at the same time.

↑ A soldier in the SOLDIER Command Center mentions that Lazard and Rufus look alike.

Heidegger

[FFVII] He oversees Shinra’s Public Security Division. He is in charge of the Turks and the military, but he is always domineering and incompetent, and is ridiculed even by his own staff.

[CC] As the merger of the SOLDIER and Security Division draws near, the SOLDIERS are anxious to see if he is qualified to be Lazard’s substitute. He is also named as the sender of [X2-7] Analysis of the Midgar Attacks.

↑ This 2nd Class SOLDIER is anxious to have Heidegger as his boss. His lack of popularity is the same as in FFVII.

Scarlet

[FFVII] A bewitching beauty who oversees Shinra’s Advanced Weaponry Division. The inventor of the mako cannon and a particularly outstanding executive, she is also ruthless and sadistic.

[CC] While there is a 2nd Class SOLDIER who admires her, claiming that she is “the hottest in Midgar”, the researchers in the Materia Room see her as an enemy who wants to shut down the Materia Room.

↑ He says, “I wouldn’t mind being stepped on by her high heels, if you know what I mean!”. It would certainly be appropriate for him…

Palmer

[FFVII] He oversees Shinra’s Space Development Department. He has lost most of his influence since the failed rocket launch a few years ago. His unusual words and actions make a big impact.

[CC] After [Zack’s] return from Junon, a 3rd Class SOLDIER who admires Lazard’s leadership says, “If any of them were my boss, I’d have been long gone.” naming him [Palmer] in the same league as Heidegger, Scarlet, and Reeve.

↑ In FFVII, he [Palmer] was the most incompetent of the executives, but in this man’s opinion, everyone except Lazard is the same?

Reeve Tuesti

[FFVII] He oversees Shinra’s Urban Planning Division, which has been looking after the expansion of Midgar. He remotely controls Cait Sith without telling the people around him.

[CC] As mentioned in Palmer’s section, the 3rd Class SOLDIER names him as a comparison to Lazard. In addition, in [X2-1] Midgar Construction Project, the development status of Midgal is distributed as a company newsletter.

↑ The precise text shows Reeve’s character, who is serious and thinks of Midgar as his own child.

Don Corneo

[FFVII] The boss of Wall Market, a thriving business district in the Sector 6 Slums. He is an unparalleled womanizer and extends his evil reach to Tifa when she approaches him for information.

[CC] A girl in the market in the Sector 5 Slums is worried that her kind “uncle,” who wants to marry her in the future, has gone out to kill monsters. But after listening to her carefully, it seems that she is talking about Corneo.

↑ In FFVII, Corneo is just a dirty old man, but does he have an admirable side that wants to kill monsters?

Godo Kisaragi

[FFVII] Yuffie’s father. He is the chief of the “Five High Sages”, the five warriors who typify Wutai, but his daughter calls him a lazy bum because he never shows his true abilities and only sleeps.

[CC] After clearing [M8-5-6] Treasure Info 6, Yuffie appears to steal Zack’s treasure and tells him “My dad was given all the SOLDIER’s email addresses by a blond guy, but he didn’t do anything with all the information.”

↑ Godo had an opportunity to oppose Shinra, but he abandoned it. His lazy attitude seems to have started around that time.

Zangan

[FFVII] He is Tifa’s martial arts master and the one who saved her life. When Nibelheim burned to the ground, he rescued Tifa from the mako reactor and carried her to Midgar.

[CC] Tifa mentions him as her martial arts master in [X4-7] I Can Fight Too. In addition, he and Zack are supposed to have met in Nibelheim, but that is not shown in the story.

↑ Zangan, who has 128 disciples around the world, discovers that Tifa, one of his students, has a talent for martial arts.

Dio

[FFVII] The head of the Gold Saucer, Shinra’s entertainment park built in the desert. His various hobbies, such as collecting rare items and watching martial arts, are reflected in various parts of the park.

[CC] He appears as the “friend” in the story told by a girl in the market in the Sector 5 Slums. Incidentally, it seems that the owner of the Network Shop Duo is “Lord Duo’s online shop based in Gold Saucer.” But is he the same person as Dio?

↑ “He travels the world collecting rare items and keeps a journal of his adventures” is Dio himself in FFVII.

Joe & Hyperion

[FFVII] An elite chocobo racer and the jet-black chocobo he rides. He competes with Cloud in high-ranking races in the “Chocobo Racing” mini-game.

[CC] A female Shinra employee on LOVELESS Avenue was attacked by a monster on her way to Kalm, and he seems to have saved her. She calls him the “chocobo-riding prince” and is eager to see him again.

↑ At the time of the CC, he is an amateur, but as the woman predicts, he will be an elite professional racer in five years.

Other Characters

Gast & Ifalna

↑ The parents of Aerith and victims of Shinra’s research on the Ancients. His name appears in topics and emails about studying the Ancients.

Zack’s Parents

↑ In both FFVII and CC, they are worried about their son’s safety and their future daughter-in-law. In CC, they asked Cissnei if she would marry him.

Cloud’s Mother

↑ When Cloud returned from inspecting the Nibel mako Reactor, he sent an e-mail inviting Zack to his parents’ house to taste his mother’s cooking.

The Son of a Nibelheim General Merchant

↑ This young man in the Sector 5 Slum seems to be the one who wrote to Tifa in FFVII about his crush on her, but is the “girlfriend” a wish?

Tifa’s Dad

↑ A man who chases after Sephiroth and is killed during the burning of Nibelheim. Cloud talks about him in [X4-9] Where are you!?

Spectacle[-loving] Couple

↑ A man and woman in Rocket Town in FFVII are excited by a dangerous incident. A couple that resembles them can be found in Junon when it was attacked…
