A young woman who lives in Nibelheim and is idolized by the boys of her age in the village. Because she is a local who is well-informed about the region, she guided Zack and the rest of Shinra’s investigation team to the Nibel Mako Reactor. She is Cloud’s childhood friend, and when he left the village to become a SOLDIER, she made him promise that “If you’re in a pinch, I’ll come rescue you.” Ever since then, she has been looking forward to seeing him again as a handsome young man. While staying in the village, she began learning martial arts from Zangan, a traveling martial artist, and her master recognizes that she is a good fighter.

The Only Woman who Knows About Cloud’s Past
In FFVII, Tifa holds the key to the story as a person who knows Cloud’s childhood and as someone involved in the burning of Nibelheim, which is also told in CC. She and Cloud communicate their feelings at the end of the story [of FFVII], and live together during AC and DC.
→ Tifa is the only witness to Cloud’s vague memories, and she plays an important role in helping Cloud regain his true self.
