The Oath

“Created” the day Clive pledged his allegiance to Cid,
this crystal shard transfixed with twin daggers

is a powerful reminder of a promise made, a friendship forged, and a legacy inherited.

Proof of an Oath

The signboard of 《The Hanged Man》 tavern in Lostwing.
Its symbol is a representation of oppressed people.

Quinten assembled his comrades in order [to get] revenge and continued to wait until that time [came].
Although he finally achieved his long-cherished desire, he lost both his village and comrades.
However, he still had his “family” left.

Hanged Man Signboard

The emblem of the Hanged Man, the tavern that sits at the heart of Lostwing—now in the depths of an aetherflood.
It depicts a hooded, bound, and starved man hung by the ankles—perhaps contemplating how he will take his vengeance on those who made him this way.

Now that Quinten strives to build a new future of the remnants of his Lostwing family, mayhap the Hanged Man will rise again—but likely under a different name.

《Martha’s Inn》 Signboard

The signboard of 《Marth’s Inn》 in Rosaria.
Its symbol is a chocobo sleeping in the inn’s stables.

Martha has continued to shelter Bearers while collaborating with Cid.
Their aspirations and thoughts will be inherited [by other people] from now on.
Just like in Eastpool, where the Bearers began walking forwards on their own.

Martha’s Rest Signboard

The emblem of Martha’s Rest, personal fiefdom of the landlady of the Golden Stables, and an island of safety and security in a sea of anything but.
It shows a sleeping chocobo—

—and the Guardians and Bearers of Rosaria can too rest easy, safe in the knowledge that they have friend in Martha.

《The Veil of Night》 Signboard

The signboard of 《The Veil of Night》 brothel in Northreach.
Its symbol is a crescent moon representing the tranquility of night.

Isabelle, who protects a tranquil place in the town she loves.
No matter what, she has always been trying to get everyone to join forces.
Just like the people who had once saved her.

Veil Signboard

The emblem of the Veil, Northreach’s far-famed house of ill repute.

The town in the gateway to the imperial capital of Oriflamme, where waves of old money and a new lap against the opposing sides of the great wall.
However, the Veil’s proprietor Isabelle knows it best as a safe haven in a storm—
—the town that took in her and the man she loved when the rest of the world shunned them.

《The Guardians of the Embers》 Scarf

A deep crimson scarf that symbolizes the People of the Flames.
A sign of loyalty from Wade, who leads 《The Guardians of the Embers》.

Even after their homeland became a vassal state, Wade and the other [Guardians]
continued burning with the fire of hope that they wanted to be knights of Rosaria.
That ember will probably [burn] strongly and steadily spread.

Guardians Scarf

With this tippet, dyed red for the flames of the Firebird and the blood of his fallen Rosarian brothers,
does Sir Wade pledge not only his loyalty, but the loyalty of the Guardians of the Flame.

《The Briar’s Kiss》 Signboard

The signboard of 《The Briar’s Kiss》 blacksmith at Dalamil Relay Station.
Its symbol is a rose said to bloom in the desert and two swords.

L’ubor inherited [the name of] the Ear of the Desert, 《Růžena Dalimil》.
He continued thinking of the town, surpassed his [social] standing, and was appreciated by the people.
And from now on, he will keep on living as a “person”.

Briar’s Kiss Signboard

The emblem of the Briar’s Kiss, the finest forge in Dalimil, run by its puckish and precocious young forgemaster, L’ubor.

He inherited both his forge and the role of Desert Hare from his predecessor, the original Ruzena Dalimil—
—though the
mayoralty of Dalimil, he won entirely by his own merits.

Its symbol is a red chocobo, their cargo-carrying attendant.

Eloise and Theodore lived their lives supporting each other.
Even after losing her beloved younger brother, the older sister never stops walking forwards.
In order to help people with transporting cargo and to bring a smile to their faces.

Crimson Caravans Signboard

The emblem of the Crimson Caravans—porters of wide renown based in the market town of Boklad.
It depicts a laden cocobo.

After the death of her brother and confidant,
Theodore, Eloise chose to continue the work they had begun together—
—freeing Bearers from slavery, just as she had freed him so many years before.

Rusted War Helm

A helmet worn by Elwin, Archduke of Rosaria,
during his lifetime when he went to war.

Elwin’s keepsakes, which had been enshrined at his cenotaph, were moved
and now continues to watch over his nearby children.
[Until] the end of the lives of the brothers who defied fate and cleared the way for the world of people.

Rusted Battlehelm

Archduke Elwin’s helm, worn in his victorious campaign to quell the northern uprising,

and later laid to rest upon his
memorial stone.
Now it sleeps in Clive’s chambers,
a constant
reminder of the bravery and selflessness of the man in whose footsteps he and his brother mean to follow.

Snow Moonflower Crown

A flower crown Jill made by hand.
It was woven from picked 《Snow Moonflowers》
that bloom on the Macle-du-Roy Hills in Sanbreque’s territory.

Snow Moonflowers are the flowers of Jill and Clive’s memories.
Their faint love from the days of yore dwell in them.

Snow Daisy Garland

A fragrant diadem, handwoven by Jill
from flowers picked on the shores of Oillepheist Bay.

The garland rekindles memories of a more innocent time and speaks of a love that can never fade.

Cid’s Goblet

Cid’s favorite goblet.
[Clive] received it from Otto as a memento of Cid.

Cid, who walked with ideals and aspirations in his heart, and Clive, who inherited his dying wish.
For Otto, who continued to support both of them, it was the words they left behind that were enough, rather than any memento.

Miraculously undamaged in the attack on the hold hideaway, Otto held onto the featureless clay cup to remind him of his lost friend,
before giving it to Clive, knowing that Cid would have wanted the proud bearer of his legacy to have it.

Model Airship

An airship model filled with Mid’s dreams.
A prototype model made to make the Enterprise fly in the sky.

“The Key of Dreams” was also “The Key of Calamity”.
The conclusion of Mid’s unfulfilled dream was entrusted to “a good-natured person”.
She believes that it will continue being the Dream.

Mid’s dangerous dream of flight, immortalized in miniature.

Though the experiment ended in failure, Mid has “allowed” Clive to keep hold of the model so that once her renown has grown, he might sell the piece for an exorbitant amount of gil.

The Signed Triple Alliance

A signed document of Byron, Havel and Quintin’s resolve.
A sign of the bond between three people who swore to make a way for their people to walk forwards.

Before, the Wind Continent was [united as] one under the name of the 《The Triple Alliance》.
In the course of time, they became three countries in never-ending conflict,
but the old alliance has been revived based on another conviction.

The Triunity Accord

Signed in Port Isoldeby representatives from Rosaria, Dhalmekia, and Sanbrque,
this mutual accord sets the stage for a new age in Storm if not officially, then at least in spirit.

三国同盟の調印

バイロン･ハヴェル･カンタンの決意を記した調印書。
民が歩む道をつくると誓った、3人の絆の証。

かつて風の大陸は《三国同盟》の名の下にひとつだった。
時は流れ、もはや争いの絶えぬ三国となったが、

Stolas’ Quill Pen

Harpocrates’ long-time favorite quill pen.
Many books have been written with this old pen.

After exchanging words once more with his former student,
the old master entrusted Clive with his favorite item [he used] to write down [people’s] statements up until now.
He desires for a world to come were [Clive] can hold a pen instead of a sword.

Stolas Quill

Loresman Harpocrates’s best-loved writing implement,
whose ink has penned many a learned tome.

It is said that the long quills of the stolas become imbued with the wishes it hears over
its long lifetime, the words just waiting to pour out onto the page—
—so should the day come that Clive puts down his sword and picks up the pen, he shall not find his one and only insurmountable enemy in writer’s block.

Scholar’s Hat

The scholar’s hat that Vivian owned.
Given as a proof of graduation from Kanver University.

Although Vivian was outside of a circle of people,
her solitude was sublimating as she lived in the Hideaway.
As proof of her trust in Clive,
she vows to offer all her wisdom to him.

Scholar’s Bonnet

Vivian Ninetales’s academic cap,
awarded to her upon her graduation from the University of Kanver.

Now Vivan shares her learning with Clive—
—the gift of the bonnet serving as a pledge that so long as they remain together, he knowledge shall be as much his as it is her own.

Winter Mead

Gav’s treasured extremely strong alcohol.
An alcohol made in the short northern summers,
it is drunk in winter to stave off the cold.

Gav lost his mother and sister and so could never become the “big brother” [like] he had dreamed.
But now, everyone in the family called the Hideaway recognizes him.
He is [their] reliable, admirable “big brother”.

Winter Mead

A gift from Gav,
this potent potable is made from honey collected in the northern Territories’ short summers and fermented slowly over the next six moons.

Despite and obvious inability to hold his drink, Gave has insisted that he be allowed to share the bottle when the time comes to crack the seal.

北部の短い夏につくられるこの酒は、

Tarja’s Medicine Chest

A medicine chest with detailed carvings.
It is filled with precious medicines hand-picked by Tarja.

Clive, who tries to force his way through in battles,
rarely receives help from the Infirmary.
For the sake of a guy like him, Tarja crammed the medicine he needed
into a this “portable infirmary”.

Medicine Chest

A beautifully carved chest
that opens to reveal countless compartments full of tonics and tinctures.

As Clive often proved a difficult patent,
reluctant to come to the infirmary,
Tarja commissioned this curio
that he might take a part of the infirmary with him.

Continental Incense Burner

An imported incense burner sold by Charon.
Various effects are produced when it is packed with smoldering herbs and ambergris.

It is a valuable item made using techniques not found in Valsithea,
and is an item of exceptional value even among [the items] in her exchange.

Continental Censer

An ornate brass censer from beyond the outer seas, gifted to Clive by Charon for his assistance in clearing her name.
According to the cantankerous shopkeep, when packed with herbs and ambergris and left to smolder, the fragrant smoke produced can ward off everything from insects to the plague, protect a home from thieves and demons, and heal any number of ailments, all while bringing love and fortune.

カローンが扱っていた舶来品の香炉。
香草や竜涎香を詰め、燻すことで様々な効能を生む。

ヴァリスゼアにはない手法でつくられている貴重品で、
彼女の取引所の中でも、一際価値のある品らしい。

Martelle’s Fruit

A subtly sweet fruit picked in the Hideaway’s Botanical Garden.

Because of the deceased Martelle and those who inherited her dying wish,
what was a sour fruit has become sweet and delicious.
The name of the fruit is filled with the thoughts that were inherited [from her].

Martelle Apples

A somewhat stunted, somewhat sweet apple grown from the blighted earth thanks to the dedication and perseverance of one
woman—Martelle.

Though she was to lose her life from the
wounds she sustained in Kupka’s attack on the hideaway, her legacy lives on in the saplings she saved from the ruins.

マーテルの果実

隠れ家の植物園で採れた、ほのかに甘い果実。

今は亡きマーテルとその遺志を継いだ者によって、
酸っぱかった実も、甘く美味しい実となった。

Ambrosia’s Harness

A saddle and eye patch for a chocobo to wear.
A masterpiece the peddlers contributed money to for Ambrosia.

Ambrosia had continued to protect the people traveling along the main roads.
It is said she was called 《The Heart of Rosaria》
because she behaved like a noble Knight.

Ambrosia’s Tack

A saddle and blinders crafted specifically for Clive’s childhood chocobo, Ambrosia.

Even after being separated from her
master, the noble steed served the people of Rosaria in his stead—
—protecting the defenseless from the merciless, just as a good Shield should.

アンブロシアの馬具

チョコボが身につけるための鞍と眼帯。
行商人がアンブロシアのために用立てた逸品。

街道を通る人々を守り続けていたアンブロシア。

Scorched Wooden Sword

Clive’s favorite wooden sword when he was a boy.
It was carried out of the castle by Torgal, when he was separated [from Clive] for a long time.

Even after they were separated in the Phoenix Gate Assault,
Torgal wandered about searching for his master.
During that whole time, he never forgot [Clive] for a single moment.

Charred Sparring Sword

Clive’s old sparring sword,
salvaged by Torgal in the aftermath of the Ironblood invasion and hidden at Clive’s “original” hideaway, the rookery.

It is a reminder of who Clive once was
and how he has become—
—as well as of the unbreakable bond between lifelong friends.

少年の頃、クライヴが愛用していた木剣。
生き別れとなったトルガルが城から持ち出していた。

フェニックスゲートの襲撃で離別した後も、
トルガルは自らの主を捜してさまよい続けた。

Dusk Crystal Shard

A shard of dusk crystal mined from Sage Spire.
In addition to [the one] Charon had obtained by trading on the black-market,
Goetz had [this one].

[Due to] Clive and His Crew’s efforts, Sage Spire was silenced
and the dusk crystals that were overflowing inside the spire disappeared.
It seems the ones that had already appeared on the market escaped that effect,
but the remnants of the old era will probably disappear eventually.

Dusk Shard

A subtle reflection of mankind: fiery yet flawed, brilliant yet brittle—and its future; clear yet clouded.
How the crystal endures despite its “mother” having faded is perhaps a sign of hope for us all.

ダスククリスタルの欠片

《賢者の塔》で採掘されたダスククリスタルの欠片。
カローンが闇取引で手に入れたものとは別に、
グツが所持していた。

クライヴたちの活躍で賢者の塔は沈黙し、
塔の中にあふれていたダスククリスタルは消滅した。

《The People of Water》 Ornamental Panel

An ornamental panel made by《The People of Water》, who live in hiding in Mysida.
The lattice pattern signifies Leviathan, who is their power,
and the blue applied to it signifies water, which represents life.

Shula and the others had continued to watch over Neptune’s Wave Wall.
However, after a long period of inactivity, they began to move again,
and protecting and raising Waljas became their new mission.

Haven Sighboard

The emblem of Haven—hidden village of the Motes of Water.
The pattern of intersecting lines represents both the scales of the great serpent Leviathan and
the ripples upon the surface of the Ceaseless Rill—the circle of life that has neither beginning nor end.

Now that Waljas is released, the two flow together again at long last.

格子状の紋様は彼らの力たるリヴァイアサンを示し、
そこに塗られた青は、命の象徴たる水を表す。
